COMMUNITY AGROINDUSTRIES

The processing and agro-industrialization of agroecological production offer multiple benefits to traditional communities, including the development of food storage and preservation technologies, ensuring food and nutritional security and sovereignty. These practices promote the maintenance and reproduction of agrobiodiversity, preserving the genetic and cultural heritage of communities, in addition to contributing to environmental health. Additionally, they create new economic opportunities, generating income and jobs, and strengthening the local economy.

PROBLEM SOLVED

Several groups of traditional peoples and communities and family farmers develop sustainable production initiatives in their territories and structure community agro-industrial processes. These initiatives encounter difficulties in implementing and regularizing them in fiscal, environmental and health aspects. Informality also weakens the agro-industrial initiatives of traditional peoples and communities in all links of the production, supply and marketing chain.
Sustainable territorial development occurs based on the economic valorization of agrobiodiversity products and the reproduction of knowledge associated with these resources maintained by traditional peoples and communities.

SOLUTION ADOPTED

Support the agro-industrialization processes of agrobiodiversity products through the acquisition of tools, items and equipment, with a special emphasis on the processing of juçara palm fruits. This initiative aims to strengthen the productive capacity of traditional communities, promoting sustainability and the valorization of local natural resources. The acquisition of adequate equipment will allow the optimization of processing, ensuring greater efficiency and quality of the final products. In addition, this approach contributes to the conservation of the juçara palm, a species of great ecological and cultural importance, by encouraging its sustainable use and preventing predatory exploitation.

RESULT ACHIEVED

The promotion of the agroindustry of Quilombo do Campinho and the development of the agroindustry of Quilombo da Fazenda resulted in significant advances for the communities involved. In addition, the promotion and support of the agroindustry of Ubatumirim contributed to the expansion of productive activities in the region. These initiatives promoted food and nutritional sovereignty, ensuring that communities had access to healthy, locally produced food. The generation of jobs and income was another important result, providing better living conditions and strengthening the local economy.
